The Board of Proprietors makes St Mark’s School available to provide education with an Anglican special character.

The provision of education with an Anglican special character is the reason why St Mark’s School was established, and is the purpose for which the school continues to exist.

The Proprietors aspire to see St Mark’s School flourish as a Christian school in the Anglican tradition which delivers a first-class education in all subjects, and an education which teaches pupils that this world is God’s world – God has created the world, redeemed the world from evil for a good purpose, and filled it with divine love. In this vision Christian worship and religious education are opportunities for students to give thanks to God for God’s love, creation and redemption, to pray for the world, and to learn about Jesus Christ and the life Jesus calls his followers to lead, shaped by the Anglican Five Marks of Mission, and further enriched through the core values of Faith, Hope, and Love.

The Board of Proprietor’s vision for St Mark’s is that, in delivering education with an Anglican special character, the school will provide an academically excellent, and spiritually vibrant education that:

      a.  is centred on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ;
      b.  integrates faith and learning;
      c.  anchors faith and learning about Jesus Christ (i.e. the Christian faith) in the Anglican tradition of worship, pastoral care, and mission.
      d.  helps pupils connect with God and understand their place in His world; and
      e.  equips pupils to be a force for good in the world as lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.
